Connected only available on March build?

Just got the above word back from my MA when I asked about adding connected.

Is this right? I'm sure some of the Countrymans that have already been delivered have this?

He is wrong. Several people here have connected on their CM. Ours is being built right now and we have connected.

That's what I thought. Ugh. So is this a case of not knowing any better, or wanting to push the build through now? Is it possile that there are a limited number of slots for connected? That makes no sense though. I'm going to shoot a note back saying a "friend in Ohio" has it on a current build and see what she says.

I think they have one in the pipes they want you to take rather than getting you the exact car you want.

I can even email you a copy of our build sheet if she doesn't believe you. Saying it's not available till march is just a flat out fabrication or she has no clue. Maybe they already have one in production and are trying to steer you toward options where you would just buy that one. Very odd.

Thing is, we've put down a deposit (Monday) and ours was going to be a First or second week of Feb build, so, we're kindof committed with an order already, if you see what I mean? It's confusing for sure. Thanks for the thoughts.

I agree with Island maser -- that's probably their next allocation slot. Similar to mine -- I ordered early December, and it was just built. I don't like the fact that they aren't upfront, though, unless there was a misunderstanding of what they actually said.

Good point. That's possible also but weird that they would lie about it.

DH's order went in yesterday with Connected. MA called back and told us that he got the ok on the cargo area cover, but didn't mention the Connected, so I think your MA is trying to push you to a CM already on the way. Tell him you'll order through one of the Atlanta dealers and I bet you will suddenly have Connected available.

Nonsense. Connected available on R60s since November production. Its on my car which was built in November. Hold the MA accountable. Facts are too easy to come by and dealer misinformation is easy to counter.

Because they've used up their current allocations and don't want the OP to go to another dealership and order?

Oh, and at least 3 of the CMs we saw/test drove at Global in the last few weeks had Connected.

Well, she's gone quiet since I said i knew someone who had it on order. Hopefully just had some bad info there.

Annette, I would pull the Atlanta card except that I would never be able to get a courtesy car from Charleston when I took it up for services. And I sure as nuts won't make a four hour trip each way to ATL. I'm in charge of two small kids (2.5 and 5 and in school) so even a two hour trip each way for a service is going to be a moderately complicated workaround.

Do not settle for anything less than the EXACT build that YOU want.

Just heard back, it's in. She apologized and said she'd got it mixed up.

Lindsey, were you able to get a modified convenience package with the connected? I'd love the rain sensors, but don't want to plunk down another $250. Someone mentioned a version of the package that could be added by MAs.

We added the convenience with the MA, it's an extra $750 if you have MINI Connected (they knock $500 off the price for the bluetooth and USB).
Your MA has to add this when they submit the build, you can't do it in the configurator.

Exactly right. We got this option added to our CM with connected/navi. The MA wasn't sure how to add it on but thanks to Midnight Blue and others I gave him this code and it worked like a charm. It will print out right on your build form with ZC2 and the associated options.

Once again we have another clueless MA who failed to learn anything about the car. This is pathetic.

In the end the ability to sell a car has little dependence on subject knowledge unfortunately. From my experience in retail, customers HATE it when you know more than they do so I can certainly see why there's no real push for knowledge either.

On the day we picked up our CM, our MA said multiple times that I knew more about the car than she did.

Feel free to tell your dealer that Cincinnati Mini is selling Connected. I ordered it on my CM in the beginning of January, and it was just finished being built and is out of production as of 1/20/11. My MA never gave it a second option, and all of the CMs I test drove had Connected. You should esculate this.

Cincinnati Mini customer here too. Looks like we might get on the same boat as mine was finished only a few days after yours.
