Ordering - How Long From Order To Delivery??

I have an 04 Sebring Convertible that I had planned on replacing with an new MCS sometime in the Spring, when demand for convertibles should be at it's peak. Unfortunately I learned that my Sebring is experiencing low oil pressure at idle and my mechanic thinks it's due to bearing and seal wear. I have about 140,000 on the Sebring and he says that's not uncommon at that mileage with that engine. So, I guess I am ordering the MCS a few months earlier than planned. My question to those of you who have recently placed orders on 2011 MCS's is how long did it take from order to delivery?

So 1-2 months depending on time from order to start of production?

Start of production can be almost instant. Often they change the build on one coming thru to your specs.

Or you could do what I did... our dealer had plenty of new cars in stock, and I browsed the lot until I found one that ticked the most boxes on my wish list. I was able to take it home the same day, and I've been entirely satisfied with the car.

And besides, the aftermarket parts and accessories catalogs are huge for these cars, so even if your MINI isn't personalized for you at the factory, you can customize it after you get it. For example, I got mine a set of Sport Stripes earlier this month.

Cheers,

Spridget

It's all a gamble with incentives - had we bought it off the lot we would be paying 2.9% interest and no other incentives. When the ordered MINI arrived interest was 1.9% and free premium package - so we rolled the dice in won in that respect....

MOST buyers order their MINI......

That would be great, but the MCS that I want seems pretty rare. Plan is Pepper White, with Green Lounge Leather, Premium, Sport, Convenience and Cold Weather. From what I can tell, the Green Lounge Leather isn't to common. I have only actually seen it on one car so far.

I think it depends on what the plan is for the car: i.e. keep in and fun it into the ground, or lease and get something new a few years down the line. If it's something you have your heart set on then I'd order it. I ended up having to do that because of the options I wanted (carbon black leather, sport/prem/cold weather/conv packages) and am glad I did. It wouldn't feel like it was mine otherwise and I would think I had compromised.

I just ordered a Mini on 26 Nov. and it was available for pickup 15 Jan. in Washington State.

I went with White Silver and Green Lounge Leather (and English Oak/Crome Line interior). It's stupid beautiful.

Pics in my gallery.

I picked up 9 weeks to the day after I ordered mine but could have picked it up a week earlier. If you can wait that long, then definitely order and get exactly what you want. Why compromise? Good luck and welcome!

Thanks everyone. I am definitely going to place an order either this week or next. White Silver is pretty cool and I have certainly thought about it, but I am leaning toward solid Pepper White with the Green Lounge Leather. First mod will be some green stripes. It will join my son's 09 Dark Silver Clubman S in the driveway until he heads off to grad school next fall.

There are a lot of options I wanted, but there were 0 in the states, so I had to order.

Try to find an Anthricite headliner, cloth seats, and smartphone prep.... Good luck!

And while I was at it, I should have just bitten the bullet and ordered the alarm, rear fogs, and limited slip... All were stupid cheap from the factory, but not so much when you add them after the fact, if at all possible (rear fogs...)

Anyway, ordered Sept 7 2009, built week 40, delivered Nov 3 in Maryland.

My only regret (sometimes) was not ordering the anthricite headliner. Actually I didn't see it while "building" my MCS. From the factory, only $250. My dealer quoted just under $1300 to retrofit!

My wife drove my diesel crewcab truck about 4 weeks after selling her PT Cruiser thru the local AutoTrader. Cash buyer that did not even drive the PT first, only rode in it. Thankfully though, did not want to take the hit on a trade in. The PT sat on the market for 4 weeks before we even got an inquiry.

That's a big change form a truck to a MINI.
