Please tell me about it. Nice tone? You got highway cruz drone? How loud? Thank you.

I don't know of anyone using NM, but I'm sure someone on NAM will speak sooner than later. Here's a link to a NM catback being tested on a R56: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZjO0bZG-go

Sounds pretty good to me and similar to Borla. I’m using Borla “street” exhaust. It is not loud in the cabin nor is there any drone at any RPM. The Borla “race” exhaust is too loud for most people and could cause you legal issues in some cities. Another excellent exhaust system for the MINI is Milltek.

I think most people don't have the NM exhaust for a couple reasons. First, it is only a cat-back, which means it connects a little bit past where the stock resonator/2nd cat would be, but not to the downpipe. Second, the tubing is only 60mm or 2.362 inches. The stock tubing is about 55mm or 2.165 inches, so 60mm is not that much of an increase. Finally, it costs $760 http://www.namotorsports.net/detail....rt_cd/NM308856 For only $645 http://www.helix13.com/mini/products/exhaust you could get the invidia exhaust which is a full exhaust as it connects to your stock downpipe. Additionally, the tubing is 2.5 inches, which is a significant increase over stock. The invidia also sounds sick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLRUA...eature=related

All I am saying is that you can get more for your money with the Invidia. But it's your money and you can do what you want with it.

With that said, if you go with the NM exhaust you wont be disappointed as they make quality parts.

My other options are Borla Touring and Miltek. Neither are real loud or drone at highway speeds. I would really like to hear from an NM owner since the tone of this exhaust is VERY nice. All you can expect from a cat back is a bit more sound. Might as well sound good.

I know this is a bit of a dead thread, but I'm kind of in the same boat...

I'm leaning towards the Invidia, especially for the pricing and power potential.

@Bigprfed: I thought the Invidia was 2.5" diameter piping...you're saying it's 60mm?

well, I guess it's about time I read this. [B]I[B] have a NMeng cat back exhaust, and I love it. There's no drone and I love the deeper tone it has than other exhausts. The tips are also really nice looking IMO. it is true you can get more exhaust for cheaper with other brands, but, no offense to other dealers, you can get ALTA boost tubes that fit pretty well, or NMeng that fits perfect. If you ask me, I'll pay more for sound and quality, even if it doesn't have a a new cat. Plus, there are a lot of good cats out there that don't throw CEL's without a tune. So really, I guess it just boils down to what you want to spend, I'm sure anyone would be with either...

Does the NM cat back involve cutting/welding for installation?

You sir are wrong. The Invidia system is 2.5 inch or 63.5mm

As seen here

Although the NM exhaust is really nice and sounds good, you get more for your money with the Invidia system. And it sounds good too

By the way, I did go with the NM cat-back. Yes, there is a bit of drone at cruising speed, but its very deep and quiet enough to be just background noise like wind noise. Does not interfere with ones enjoyment of the HK sound system. This is not a loud system, but neither is it quiet, just deep and mature sounding.
