LED Clubman License plate lights

on other forums here on NAM fellow motor-ors seem to post this site http://www.hoen-usa.com/licenseplate.htm#module

however, no one ever says which LED light actually works in a mini or club man for that matter. I have used ledlight.com before but lately there QC seems to be garbage and the leds are not lasting long. I like the idea of completely removing the license plate lights and replace with a true LED module.

Anyone done this in there clubman? i tried searching this area of the forum without success, makes me think nobody has LED'ed there license plates.

Any insite or LED recomendation other then ledlight.com is welcomed too Thanks!

Go to superbrightleds.com. Under Miniature Wedge Bulbs. WLED-x5 works. However......you need a resistor for each unless you want the car to give you a "light out" warning every time you start it up. LEDs don't pull enough watts to make the car think the bulb is there. They show you on the site how to install them.

After searching threads on here i ran across one where someone had found the OEM BMW led plate lights, I think it will take some modding and electrical work but i enjoy that kind of stuff and will post how i make out with pics. I went and ordered the BMW lights today, will be in Saturday

They didnt! i was in my dealer last year getting my 06 worked on and they had the rally eddition in the showroom. From the moment i laid eyes on her i fell in love with the black and lime green. (before that, i hated the clubmans) There were some things i would have changed and essentially made my own rally edition.

I hear ya. i wan't sold on the mini club either. but the black with lime green combo definetly turns heads . i wanted the JCW. but my wife won that decision.we purchaced a 09 ' rallye edition they had just gotten in here in CALI. the kids love it' fall asleep everytime. BTW those green calipers complete the look. did you end up with the color code? or just get it matched at the paint shop.i've been thinkin about a BB kit upgrade.

We swapped all the bulbs in our clubby with hyper-white LED's. Looks killer.

A lot of the clubby bulbs are the 194 wedge type. I found some nice 194 LEDs (5 surface mount lights) on ebay. Super bright.
I'll get the name of em on Monday.

Motor on!

There is not a paint code for the mirror caps because they are plastic with the color infused. I was able to take my mirrors down to the paint shop and they were able to match it near perfect, If your interested in doing your calibers green ide be happy to give you the color code

Also, an update on the BMW leds.....they dont work, they are half the size of whats in the clubmans...of all the car manufactuers that share parts and sizes why isnt BMW one of them....i mean, half of the parts have BMW stamped right on them

Here are the ones that we used on our clubby.

Ebay
This lot is enough to replace all the 194s on the clubman.

I think the glove box is a festoon type bulb.
I'll find the exact number/size
