Why would you take a chance with something like this for a motor mount? The inserts aren't that expensive.

What chance am i taking? Just an experiment. Instead of inserts you use liquid poly as the insert, which hardens into poly urethane. I have done this with my buddies oldschool EG mounts which worked like a charm and still is in tact, as well with another buddies nisan 240sx. No risk involved, i planned on getting a bsh mount, but it this works its 10$ I also have my own way of doing this, involving a poly carbonate plate which after the urethane is cured you peel it off so it leaves a perfectly flat finish.

I am all about solid mounts instead of urethane but, it takes almost all of the drive ability of it.

I too used to do this about 10 years ago. Made a world of difference. You can get different grades of substance to change how hard it is too. On the cheap it works great!

Seems like a pretty logical application in my opinion, course I like trying things no one else does.

I think this application "thought" would be useful on the Torque Arm, filling the voids that the inserts fill. Because it's my opinion that what causes the slight buzz/vibration at idle with the inserts is not the fact the voids were filled, but the fact there's a poly lip all the way around that is wedged between the frame mount and the large circular ring of the torque arm. With inserts such as NM installed, the isolation of vibration from the torque arm itself is no longer isolated to the rubber of the mount, but now has a more direct path from the torque arm to the frame mount through the harder poly material that's in direct contact with both the torque arm lip and the frame mount.

And to those who have MT and inserts, a little throttle input with the clutch in probably eliminates that buzz. But the AT guys, they deal with the buzz or they power brake a bit...neither is an option in my opinion.

Eliminate the outer lip of a torque arm insert...eliminate the idle buzz. So I think this "filling" of the void just might do that.

JMHO

WOW I cant believe that there are still people doing this,

It does work, and it does hold up verry well! I have filled a lot of CIVIC mounts in my day (SOME OVER 300 HP) and only broke 1 or 2, in fact the mounts holding the BUILT 1.3 motor in my Suzuki wheelin rig are filled with the goo.

(On wide open areas in the factory mounts you can close them up with metal studs, just a hint.)
