End of Maintenance Warranty drop off - software question

So my Maintenance Warranty ended today and my car is done at the dealership. It had the following done:

-New clutch
-New high-pressure fuel pump
-Fixed rattling in the door

The other thing that was done excites me:

-"updated software programming"

Anyone know what that means?

My car is a 2007 MCS, 6MT, sport pack, cold pack, premium pack, all the goodies...

thanks!

Was your clutch covered under the warranty?

It does.
The issue arrises if they believe the part failed due to improper use.

Again, two different things.

Maintenance is oil changes and other fluids, brake pads and rotors. 3 years 36K miles

Total vehicle warranty would cover mechanical systems and parts replacement. 4 years 50K miles.

No way a clutch is covered by maintenance.

If the Maintenance covers wear items like brake pads, why not clutches?

Depends on the dealership and how hard the want to argue with MINI USA. I have an auto but asked if the clutch was covered under the maintenance and he said it was if not deemed from abuse, but rather failure.

I was not confused on this point. Clutch is covered by the 3/36 maintenance plan, so long as it's a failure due to normal wear and not abuse. The 4/50 warranty does not cover wear of the clutch, as it's a part designed to wear over time (like brake pads, tires, etc.).

Go look at the "Extended Maintenance and Warranty Program - 6 year 100k miles Contract Terms" sticky in this forum. The clutch is specifically called out alongside brake pads, wiper blades, etc. in the 'Coverages' section of the agreement.

Clutch is part of the Maintenance Warranty (3/36k). Trust me, I literally just had it done. Wasn't due to improper use, just wear and tear.
