Check engine light ‎- Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control

Got a check engine light. Plugged in my obd2 and found a ‎"P2764 Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low"

I don't expect to find someone who's had this exact code (though that would be awesome), but I am curious if it has something to do with the gear shape/exclamation mark icon I got on my tach the other day, accompanying a transmission that refused to shift. That resolved itself after I pulled over and restarted my car. I haven't seen it since.

Wondering if they are related before I take it in. Thanks.

Sound very related. It could be just a computer malfunction as when you hut it down and restarted the problem went away.

You may never see it again but if you do I would get it to the dealer right away for diagnostics.

Have you checked for leaks? Low fluid can do funny things.

Official diagnosis: a frayed wiring harness that connects to the transmission was rubbing between two parts and finally shorted out. Warranty covers the fix, and the service advisor told me the fix would be over $1100 dollars. Luckily I have to pay just the deductible. Only real problem: they need to order a replacement set of these wires all the way from Germany. Two week wait just to deliver it to my dealership. Does that seem right? Seriously, in 2011? I have sent boxes to Germany that get there in a day. They aren't willing to pay extra to send a part any way quicker than two weeks. My warranty terms only cover 7 days of a rental car. At this rate I'm going to need it for probably three weeks total.

I bought the car used with a 3rd-party warranty about 3k miles ago. They are covering this repair as a claim, with rental car, and I am responsible only for the $100 deductible.

Resurrecting this old thread. Does anyone have a fix to this issue? I have searched high and low for a Mini Cooper clutch pressure control solenoid, but I have not found it anywhere. I'm assuming that aside from the wiring issue, the part itself would be the culprit.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fixed

For anyone having this issue- I swapped the N91 solenoid in the valve body and it fixed it.
