WTT: Your MCS for my '03 Evo VIII
The wife aint happy about it, but I have pretty much made up my mind to trade my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII for a MINI Cooper S. Why do I want to give up the power, handling, brakes, etc of the Evo? Call me fickle. but I am growing tired of the urge to race everyone I am sitting beside at a street light, catching myself going 140+ on the interstate, and beating up on Mustangs and Camaros in SCCA ESP class (CFR East Coast champ this year). I am ready for something different.
So, I am either going to sell the Evo, then purchase a new MCS, or else trade someone straight up for it. My loss, a $29K MSRP car which I plan to sell for $26K as that is the going price in my area, for your gain. If anyone is interested, contact me via email or cell phone (321)626-6691.
Specs:
Sold with choice of rims, either the stock 6 spoke Enkeis, or my current street rims a set of hyperblack Enkei RPM2s. A boost guage has been installed, as has an S-AFC to lean out the rich running stock ECU program. An Exedy hyper-single disk clutch was installed at 4500 miles, correcting the car's one weakness. Has a Buschur Racing 3" stainless turbo back exhaust, with high flow cat. As it sits, the car makes 306 awhp...
Has 10,500 miles on the odometer, purchased in March of '03. Comes with a Sony MDX70 stereo and Kenwood Excelon speakers. Exterior changes were just the removal of the "Lancer" in the rear nameplate, and Evo VII tail lights (altezzas have been played for a couple of years)
I plan to list it in the Autotrader with the next two weeks, and may try Ebay at the time, till then I am open to trades.

Looks nice. Make sure you test drive a MCS on a different surfaces and times of day to make sure that it is what you want. Giving up the AWD to FWD has been a bummer for me.
I thought I may made the wrong decision buying my '04 MCS and I checked on the wholesale price and its about the same as your EVO (at least the one that went through the auction near here). depreciation is a bummer

Having the MCS hasn't stoped me from;
"the urge to race everyone I am sitting beside at a street light, catching myself going 140+ on the interstate"
The only diffrence is, in the MCS I usually loose and I can't hit 140.
The EVO is an awsome car, make sure you drive an MCS before you make your decision. I wouldn't trade my MCS for an EVO, but it has nothing to do with performance. I like small, cute, unique cars... the smaller the better. I also hope to get more HP in my Mini to make it even faster and would prefer to have a car that is faster than everyone thinks it should be not one that everyone knows is fast and would expect to get beat by at a stop light.

Man oh man...you've really got me thinking here. I'd be interested if I weren't so totally uninterested in (repulsed by?) the looks of the EVO. If I ever got one, I would start by removing the tail and replacing the hood. Do you think it would still run OK with an "OZ Rally Edition" hood?
If you really are serious about this trade let me know IMMEDIATELY.
I'm in the market for an EVO VIII.
I have an 02 EB MCS.
pm or email me if you are serious: I'll give you my number and we can chat.

As of 3 days ago I no longer have the Evo. I picked up an '02 MCS with only 943 miles on her. Already ordered exhaust, wheels, intake, pulley, sway bar, and a bunch of other stuff, financed by the mods I sold off the Evo before trading it in. So far I am enjoying the heck out of the MINI, it isn't as fast, needs some handling tweaks, but it sure feels good to be in and to be seen in. I'll be lurking hereabouts trying to learn a bunch, and then I may jump in the discussions.
