Weirdest body damage ever

What your looking at is the passenger pillar that has been hit by a rock I guess and just had a chunk taken out of it. Looks like I'll be getting this fixed along with my trim over my rear window tomorrow if Mini Of Charleston will ever call back.

Wow must have made some racket when it hit.

Did a how to some time back. 2nd Gen pillars cant be much different as the top windshield trim is the same for all years. Here is the link:

Ouch..

Good luck with Mini of Charleston calling you back. I finally gave up and waited til I went home for the holidays, and got my work done at Flow in Winston-Salem. Haha.

I had a 4RUNNER once with a perfectly round dent right behind the hood scoop. It was about 1/4 inch in diameter and straight down. I never did figure out how that could of happened since the force had to have been straight down. Im thinking someone could have shot it with a pellet gun.

I have the same thing about a half inch to the outside. I vaguely remember hearing a loud crack and searching my windshield for a crack months ago. It sounded like a rock that would have left a mark. Then last week I noticed the huge bonk and remembered that sound.
All in all, not the worst place to take a rock and, you are not alone.

This is fairly common as that pillar plastic is pretty weak.

Definitely hit by flying rock or road debris.

I wonder what that piece costs to replace...at least it doesn't need to be painted.

Weird body damage is when the wife backs her SUV with a metal New York Yankees trailer hitch into the MINI and leaving the bumper 'branded'. (and I reallllllly hate the Yankees)

My opinion of them changed when I went to get my rear trim fixed, and got an estimate on the repair ($210, so I could probably get the piece and do it myself for around $100) they treated me nice and were very friendly especially once I started talking about wanting to do a JCW tune to mine.

Just got home (see pic). and was very happy. Carolee, the manager, got the service department to install my black vinyl-ized (http://www.vinylstyles.com/) pieces. Mad props to Ray! Glad to hear yours went okay too.
