I do not like the leatherette. In warm weather my back sweats through my shirt and sticks to the seat back. Never had this problem with cloth.

I had leatherette on my 09 MC. They are horrible and gross. I would be in my car for 10 minutes and have a wet bottom from sweat. Any longer and I would be soaked. I had to carry towels around for people to sit on and it drove my nuts. Just got my 11 MCS with the leather/cloth combo seats.

I hate the leatherette. Both of the loaners I have had had leatherette and I could not wait to get my cloth seats back. The cloth is super easy to clean and doesn't show dirt at all. I have a Golden Retriever and I volunteer with a Golden Rescue so I've had a lot of dog fur in my car and it is amazingly easy to clean up dog hair on the cloth seats. The only downside that I can see is the static electricity in winter. It's annoying but you get used to a sharp spark every time you get out of your car. I love my cloth seats!

Ditto and they warm up quickly and feel great.

Sorry to revive an old thread but how do the front cloth seats hold up to the dog slobber (like the interior sides of the front seats when the dog peeks through)? I'm a seriously thinking about cloth seats and a seat cover for our next MINI.

I am finding that also - especially since I like to keep the windows open and avoid using A/C on the moderately hot summer days.

They hold up beautifully. Slobber pretty much flakes off once it's dry so all you have to do is vacuum it when the urge hits you. I haven't bothered with a seat cover but I do spread a beach towel over the back seat when my Golden is with me. Between the cloth seats and the towel, what fur she sheds while in the car ends up in the carpet, which is going to be a problem regardless of which seat material you choose. The carpet LOVES her fur.

Yep I find the black carpet is where all our CHinese Shar Pei fur ends up...

We have a poochstyle cover that works great... mostly to protect the seats and especially the plastic sides.
