My properly aligned xenons are useless in blizzard. Seems like the light bounces off the snow near the bottom and hits those on the top creating a wall of snow.

I turn off my low beams and turn on the fog light, instant visibility! The only problem is the 1 inch thick ice that covers the fogs, but still better than the low beams!

 

Careful about getting a talking to from law enforcement about driving without any low beams on. With the few lights on at such a low level you're less likely to be seen; especially by cross traffic when the plows pile the snow up on the sides of the road.

I have halogens and I'm fortunate enough to be where yellow Lamin-X is legal, and it cuts through rain and fog and snow with hardly any glare at all. I also run amber fogs and white hella driving lights on an ALTA light bar as needed.

 

With respect to visibility, is there a difference between using yellow tint and using 3k bulbs?

 

No, the final light that's output will have the same wavelength and frequency, which will be interpreted in the same way by your eye as the true yellow bulbs.
