2011 New factory sunroof tint value

Hi all,
My new car is on the way and I am thinking of getting it tinted. I read that the 2011's have a different tint level on the sunroof. Does anyone know what it is and what the old value was?
Thanks!

One of Motoringfile.com's press releases mentioned it. But at any rate, it's not a huge change. See my sig for what we did for tint.

I had big plans... until I got my 2011, and found the tint to be darker than my 06 was and pretty reasonable...

I have a 2011 MCS and I found the Pano Roof tinting is just right - dark enough to appear like it has after market tinting.

I did have all the side windows and the rear window professionally tinited a week or so after picking up the car...

Rather visa versa......

Sunroof glass tint will change from 30 percent light penetration in the previous model to 10 percent on 2011 MY vehicles.

The 2011 loaner I drove was much better than my '09. The sun was up there, but not annoying. Big difference!

So I am not sure what to do. I am tinting the sides and rear, but do i bother with the roof? My main concern is the UV and heat...not the look of it.
Thanks

I would and did - see my sig. Tell them you want it to be 5% limo tint on the sunroofs after the addition. They can measure the current tint to confirm it's 30% OEM.........

On my 2011 JCW black/black, I got ceramic 30% on the back, sides, and sunroof. I can still easily see out the top, but it looks as black as the paint from the outside. On the windshield I got Air Blue 80% ceramic tint, you can't, or can barely, tell its there. These ceramic tints work really well at keeping the inside temp. down when the car is parked in the sun. Cost in Seattle, after a 15% discount for belonging to a local MINI group (PSMINI), was $513.40 plus tax. After being parked in the sun, the car is not at all uncomfortable to get into.

here's a dumb question... so if 30 percent light penetration was standard on the old sunroofs, what % tint is that from the factory?

I had my 2011 tinted with 15% SunTek ceramic tint all around except the sunroof panels which I had them do with 5% limo. I live in Lake Elsinore in SoCal which gets very hot with a blazing summer sun so I wanted the max protection from heat and UV I could get. Here's the thread I posted on the tint.
