How to re-use Garmin portable friction mount?

Hi there

I need you help and opinion that how to re-use Garmin mount. I used to have a Gramin gps but I don't have it with me now and also I lost the bracket too. However, I still have only the Garmin mount as like below picture.

So I would like to use my smartphone (HTC Inc.) instead.... what part do I need to buy and how to use my smartphone on the Garmin mount? any ideas?

We purchased a Universal Adapter from our local Sprint Store to use with our HTC EVO's that fits our Suction Cup Garmin GPS Mount, maybe that is an option for you.
