2002 Coop S

Is there anyway to turn off that skid control, tire lock thing?
Whenever I try to get onto traffic or quickly off the line, my wheels lock up and slow me down and that yellow light inn the center goes off,
Its a six speed manual.
Help please,
much appreciated

unless they changed it in the later cars there is a toggle with the window switches with DSC or ASC on it. Flip the toggle and a yellow triangle will illuminate on the speedo. This means its off, ABS should still work.

R53Warrior is correct but I would also say you have to do this every time you drive because the ASC resets to come on every time you start your car.

If you turn off your traction control, the light on your tach will come on for the duration that it the DSC or ASC+T is turned off.

The toggle is the first one to the right of your left window toggle.

Ian's auto up window circuit will also allow you to keep ASC and DSC off even after a restart. In my opinion it is a must for any Mini so you can auto up the windows. Track mode is a nice addition.
