[Hawaii only -- sorry ] Any Given Sunday

NFL Playoffs

1.) Pair up with a fellow NAM-Hawaii member [pairing is to accomodate as many members as possible (I don't think that there are more than 24 active members presently ...if more than 24 exist -- sorry )]
2.) Pick a team via posting, not PMing (see selection below) with the basis of order being first post, first serve
>>However, it is not necessary to pair up first. Recommendation: pick your team a.s.a.p. then find a straggling member before the deadline (below)
3.) Win the Super Bowl (winners-take-all)
4.) And, win a pair of...

===>$5 Starbucks gift certificates (one per winning member -- I'll give them to your respective Motoring Advisors @ MoH following the Super Bowl)

AFC

New England (14-2)
Kansas City (13-3)
Indianapolis (12-4)
Tennessee (12-4)
Baltimore (10-6)
Denver (10-6)

NFC

Philadelphia (12-4)
St. Louis (12-4)
Carolina (11-5)
Green Bay (10-6)
Seattle (10-6)
Dallas (10-6)

Deadline: Friday, January 2

Hey, I get to play as well . My fellow NAM-HI member and chosen team are as follows...

**MINIma (my MA)/erik808: ST. LOUIS RAMS

--->This is not gambling as no wagering will take place. [Should MINIma and I win, MINIma will get both gift certificates.]

===>This has no affiliation with NAM, MINI USA, MINI of Hawaii, Starbucks (the gift certificates are on me), or the National Football League .

I sure hope the Rams don't get knocked off in their first game.

Go chiefs. Wait and see.

ALL BETS ARE IN ==> IT'S ON!!

MINIma & erik808 (St. Louis Rams  )

vs.

minihune & kbseto (Kansas City Chiefs )

*Whoever gets higher in the playoffs takes the pot [2 $5 Starbucks gcs & 1 $5 Jamba Juice gc (thank you, MINIMa!)].

There will be no tie (this ain't BASEBALL!). A tie will be decided by the amount of points scored by each team. More points win. Should that end in a tie, margin of victory will determine the winner. Smaller margin wins. Should that end in a tie, we're flipping a coin.

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE... IN ONE WEEK OR SO

>>Excuse me but I already have a Starbucks Barista Espresso machine and make my own venti, double kona coffee, 2% steamed milk, double caramel, touch of cinnamon, hazelnut syrup with extra foam and light on the whipped cream topped with toffee bits espressos. My machine paid for itself within three months. "God shots" happen.

P.S. Hey, good game between the Titans & the Ravens, yeah?!

Starbucks MINIlani?
When was this?
I've bought Lattes there before- until I got my espresso maker from them a year ago.
I don't think I'm a "bad headache" customer.

^^^late-nineties. I don't remember you from there (only kidding about the specific ordering ) BUT I DO remember you slightly (it came to me after a while) from the Mililani Chess Club (late-nineties as well). Randy, his son, Guy, his kids,... To me, that club should've/should be renamed the:

MINIlani Chess Club!
Good call. I was there since about 1997 when my three kids were playing chess. It's been a long time since I could beat the younger two. I usually unleash them on unwary players on the mainland and standback to watch the fireworks.

What is your connection to chess?

You mean Love of Chess.

You'd be surprised how good you can get with persistence.

Depends who are your friends maybe.

So did you come to the chess club meetings to play in the quad tournaments or for the chess lessons?
Ever play in the Hawaii State Open championships?

We've been going to National Open tournaments and National Scholastic Championships the last 3 to 5 years.
We've seen quite a bit on the road. In my son's first national tournament as a second grader his middle round opponent told him "I'm a first grader but this is my eighth National championship tournament". OK, well that's impressive. I have lots of chess stories to tell.

^^^I attended both the lessons & a quad tourney or two (or three). I'm pretty sure that I once got a 2nd in the non-member category in a quad tourney. Damn, that was so much fun!! Thanks for asking

Hey, lets make these MINI owners think and have a MINI chess tournament.
I don't have a USCF rating and I guarantee I make plenty of mistakes when I play.
I did play in one quad tournament as I recall. I might have come in 2nd. The winner was a young man and the two others were elementary school boys. I'm glad I didn't come in last. I was just trying to be the fourth to complete the required four players.

My children cringe watching me and my wife play a game-we are too slow. Boring.
My kids can finish a game with one minute on their clock for each side. It's sort of a blur to watch but amazing that anyone can think (reasonably well -mind you) or move that fast.
