Sprint Boost ?

Is the "Sprint Boost" for sale at like MiniMania.com a wired version of snake oil for sale or does it make a difference? I have a 2010 S with like 2400 miles on, I like to accelerate. Allot. With the difference in performance from the "sport" switch ON vs. Off, I was wondering if the Spint Boost would make a similar change, or if I would notice at all?

Sprint booster will improve the throttle response even above the sport button.

It will not improve the power or performance, all it does is sharpen the throttle response.

I would not flat out say that it "doesn't" improve performance exactly. Any mod or accessory which enhances the driveabiltiy of the car's drivetrain could be considered a performance gain.

Part of a professional tune is a throttle remap, which is what the Sprint Booster does in plug-n-play form. To some degree the new performance gains touted by those who had professional tunes done was in part due to this throttle remap.

I added one to my 03' MCS and it does in effect make the MINI perform better, more like the way it should have been from the factory.

Mine at the time also came with a 30 day money back garantee from MINI Mania. Needless to say it's never going back.........at least until I can have a professional tune done.

It's no snake oil. Just a bit pricey that's all.

The Sprint Booster isn't snake oil in the aspect of improving the throttle responce. It does do what it says in making the throttle react quicker. It will work with or without the sport mode. If you have a sport button the 2 modes on the sprint booster make you have a total of 6 different throttle stages on your MINI.

And yes we honor the 30 day money back guarantee trial for the sprint booster.

I tried the Sprint Booster on my justa and initially I liked it. The car definitely feels more responsive although no actual power increase is provided. I found by turning the unit off and on that I could nearly replicate the Sprint Booster feel by just being much more aggressive on the throttle. I eventually returned it for a "no questions asked" refund. The product is interesting but it believe it is grossly overpriced. Ths sport modules would appear to be at least as electronically complex at less than a third of the cost. For $75 it would be and interesting toy; but at $300+ it's just not worth the investment.
