Where to find this rear bumper reflector?

I've searched for a while and still no luck. As you can see, left one has gone missing

Most likely on the road somewhere...most likely in the dump by now...
To be serious..I think you may be able to find the schematics, and the part number using either realoem.com, or penskeparts.com. Most likely it will be a dealer only part if OEM.

I've already checked and they only offer bumper w/out the cutout so I can't even find the part number for it. Last thing I wanted to do is pay arm and a leg for a reflector at the dealership

Then it sounds like you need to do one of two things....make one, or if it is an aftermarket bumper (check with the maker), determine if new reflectors are even avalable..unlikely.
That rear bumper does not look totaly stock...wonder if the reflector was a mod by the previous owner.
One reminder...aftermarket parts are usually only avalable for very common replacement parts...any item that is typically a lifetime item is usually only avalable as used parts from a wrecking yard...some high demand crash parts can be had aftermarket...
Not all oem parts are pricey...I have gotten 3 and 4$ parts from mini...shipped express from Germany (to the dealer) in about a week!

Mini Cooper rear bumper reflector

Hi,

Opening a very old thread here.

I'm a Brit and have exactly the same issue as the original poster in that I have a missing passenger side rear bumper reflector from my 2002 Mini Cooper.

I have scoured the Internet and Way Motor Works are my last hope!

Are you still able to supply the part and if so, would you be able to ship to the UK?

Regards,

Woodalltim,

I believe that these came along with the clear tail lights. You might want to look and see if they are listed as part of the clear tail light retrofit kit on real oem.

Thanks for the info but I'd established that by going to my local BMW dealer.

Unfortunately, they told me the part is no longer produced and there were none in stock, even as part if the clear tail light assembly.

As I said, I've searched the Internet and breakers yards for anyone else who may stick and sell them and drew a blank, that is until I found this old thread and saw that Way Motor Works had provided one for the original poster for 41 dollars.

They haven't replied to my thread or private message I sent them.

As I recall, the 1st Gen MINIs had a Euro taillight accessory that could be purchased. They were clear taillights, and since they did not have red reflectors in them, to meet DOT standards, you needed to install the reflectors you pointed out. It was necessary to cut into the factory bumper to install the reflector. From the pic, you can see that it is a standard R53 bumper with the reflectors cut into it.

I'm looking for these as well. I lost one and the other has broken tabs. Could someone be so kind as to point me in a direction?

They are NLA, and were part of the

Clear Tail Light Kit 63216927585KT

You can get reflective stick on red reflectors and double replace them, or 3m double sided tape stick them on the lower part of the bumper diffuser.

But Looks the holder ( indented piece is NLA ) of #5

All I can think off is a body shop to make a new ones and blend it into the bumper. And do the other side also. Makes it looks better also. Then you have the parts for the reflector if needed. Think this was a fix down the road after the DOT laws changed.

Thanks for the info. I might 3D print something. Or, since they look horrid, just find a whole new rear bumper cover with the right paint code.

We have some of these rare red reflectors in stock if anyone is looking for them.
