Run 4 the Hills!!!!! 2011

Just to confirm to all the C.O.R.N. members, It is true the High Plains Motoring Society will return to the Black Hills of South Dakota next May. Jsouz has confirmed that he should have the website up sometime just after Thanksgiving. Stay tuned for further information on the website when I get it.
Until then enjoy the following videos from our 2009 run.

Wow 79 view just from last night until now. However, no one even said hi? Come on who is going? I know it is a ways out there but lets get some excitement.

I'm definitely interested. WildThang talked to me about it on the Fall motoring Run, said he could invite me. I've been up there once about 5 years ago, and did the bus tour in the hills. It looks so much more fun in the Mini! But then again, isn't everything funner in a Mini?

I will be going. I have already begun plotting a route up to the area via Valentine NE.

So Kernel...are you going?

I will be there. Probably go by way of Carhenge again. Or maybe Chimney Rock.

Great vids! I've driven some of those roads before, solo MINI with four people, so not quite as exciting, but would love to do the event. Will start warming up my wife!

For those of you still looking for information

on the R4TH Run for the Hills to the Black Hills of South Dakota, here is what you need to know:

1. Dates are May 13, 14 2011 in Rapid City, SD
2. Hotel is the Historic Alex Johnson, in Rapid City
3. The website is open to you, but not open to the public. If you wish access, PM me or Pauhana (here in NAM) with your Name, Club Affiliation, and email address. We will send you login information.
4. Everyone is welcomed, not everyone is invited.
5. There is no cost, no fee beyond your own personal expenses.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Scooter and I have a set a route and time to leave. Let us know if you'd like to join us for the trip up.

We're going north and west on two lane roads all the way, farm land to sandhills, sandhills into the prairie of South Dakota, then up through the badlands into Rapid City.

How to get there?

So, last Thursday Madelyn Emma came. We are happy and all that, but now I have a problem: How to get 2 adults, a 4 year old and a newborn in an '09 MINI all the way to Rapid City, in May, along with our luggage. Any suggestions?

Congratulations! Unfortunately I can't suggest anything real useful. Take two cars, purchase a roof rack and clamshell, or get a hitch and small trailer. The latter would have other benefits but still costs some money. And may cause warranty issues.

That would kinda take away from driving my own MINI. We might have to take two cars and a nanny.

It's only 2 or 3 days, how much luggage do you have?

A roof rack would work if you were carrying a large sea trunk full of diapers or something.

use duffle bags or back packs.... no suitcases. limit the number of jeans, shoes and other bulky items you bring.

We have our reservations in and are looking forward to making the trip. It should be a good time and many fun roads to motor on.
