T-Minus 3.5 days until R4TH 2011!

See you all thursday morning, bright and early, 6AM Fremont NE, Sapp Brothers Truck Stop, at the intersection of Highway 275 and Highway 77.

 

The temps will be in the 60's, partly cloudy and no precip, as of today, for RC.

 

The weather forecast has changed a bit but I won't let a little bit of wet get me down.

 

Friday and Saturday both look pretty good. The showers on Thursday will be good for minimizing bug gut build-up.

 

The weather looks grand for the weekend! As long as we don't catch a freak blizzard...it's all good to me...clouds, sun, rain....weather!

We set a record here yesterday with 97...so I'm ready to see more cool May weather, not July...

That was alot of fun...even if I did almost get arrested. It was good seeing you all again and we need to get together locally soon.

Well, I went driving with some people from Iowa. We went to one cave, but missed the tour, so we moseyed on to the other one. I guess the speed at which we passed the park ranger guy necessitated him to pull us over. Now, even though I have been a South Duhkotan for a while, I did not know 15mph over the limit could get your car impounded and you arrested. The park ranger emphasized that point and asked why I was going so fast. I said that I just wanted to keep up with my new friends. At that he said I was the only one getting a citation because I didn't own up to the speeding. Well, *blank* I thought to myself. After talking to the other two drivers he asked me to step out of the car. He asked me again what i was doing, this time I nicely explained that I don't have all of these neat turns and hills where I live and I was just enjoying them. He again said that he could impound my MINI and arrest me, but he said to just slow down and go slow because there are people who are going slow and let us go. I think he picked on me more because I had SD plates, I didn't tell him anything different than the others told him.
Good thing he didn't catch us going 70

 

A few hills earlier and I don't think he would have let us go with a warning!!

 

Is there going to be an event to the black hills in 2013?

 

Not sure where HPMS is planning there event this year. A couple of us in Colo have been bouncing the idea around about making another trip to the black hills. We could set up a trip and and see how much interest is out there. We would want to set the dates offset from the HPMS annual trip.

about this since this is the time of the year that we normally announce the Spring Event for the HPMS High Plains Motoring Society.

The organizing committee is in the final stages of evaluting our hotel proposals, feedback from past events, and requests from attendees. The voting so far is close between the Black Hills and Arkansas again. Note that both have significantly good draws, and one has the potential of attracting more attendees simply due to the geographic nature of things.

Stay tuned. And send me your name and email and we iwll gladly put you on our distribution list for May 2013 which is when the 5th annual event will happen.

HPMS High Plaiins Motoring Society Announces it's 5th Annual Event, MOB2 MINIs Occupy Branson 2. The event will be held at the beautiful Chateau on the Lake resort in Branson, MO from May 9-11, 2013. We will motor in southern Missouri and in Arkansas as in years past. As always, we have no dues, no fees, no t-shirts, but buttons, no badges, no muss and no fuss.
