My New Mini and New Audio Project.
Well I just recently bought this 2005 Mini S. I am still learning about mini's and the different options you could order. So bare with me if Im not making much sense... im a noob..
So I am looking to first upgrade my cabin for noise. I will go into this later. Right now I am trying to decide what amp and speakers I might use.
On the table is an Phoenix Gold Route 66 AMP. It's a six channel amp that features the PG M25 and PG M44 all under the same heat sink and incased in the same frame. The amp fits perfectly in the hatch above the battery. Amp specs as follows.
PG M25
Output Power per Channel (all channels driven)*
Into 4 ohms @ 12.0 (IASCA & USAC rating) ........ 25 watts x 2
Into 4 ohms @ 14.4 VDC ................................. 65 watts x 2
Into 2 ohms @ 14.4 VDC ................................. 70 watts x 2
Into 1 ohm @ 14.4 VDC (current limited) ............ 70 watts x 2*
Bridged into 4 ohms @ 14.4 VDC........................ 140 watts x 1
Bridged into 2 ohms @ 14.4 VDC (current limited).. 140 watts x 1*
Frequency Response........................................ ± 1dB from 20Hz to 20kHz
Signal to Noise Ratio........................................ >100dB
Input Sensitivity ............................................. 200 millivolts to 2 volts
Input Impedance......................................... .... >10k ohms
Input Voltage Range ........................................ 10.5 volts to 15.0 volts
* 2 ohms bridged or 1 ohm stereo operation REQUIRES cooling fans.
M44 Section
Output Power per Channel * Both Channels Driven
Into 4 ohm @ 13.8V DC ....................................... 55 WRMS
Into 2 ohm @ 13.8V DC ....................................... 110 WRMS< 0.02%
Bridged Power into 4 ohm ..................................... 160 WRMS
Signal to Noise Ration .......................................... > 100dB (20 to 20kHz)
Damping Factor @ (20 to 10kHz) ........................... 500 to 1
Dimensions (This is no small amp!) 26 1/4L x 10 5/8W x 2H
Anyone that knows these old skool PG amps can tell you that these amps push out a lot more wattage then listed. I've a few PG M series amps. I did consider using two PG M25's. One for front and one for rear. But the PG66 fits so well I might just use it instead.
I have a few sets of MB Quart speakers. Old skool Q-series.
