R50/53 NEW owner, BEST way to take care of car? Service etc.?
NEW owner, BEST way to take care of car? Service etc.?
Just got an 05 MCS, love it. It was BABIED by it's previous owner, I have almost 40k on her now. I don't treat my cars like crap, and this definitely will not be an exception. I rarely drive it hard (I'm 20 and need this coop to last me through college). I'd like to make this thing last to over 100k if possible (I've heard MINIs are real money pits but I think if I take care of it hopefully I won't have too many problems)
Is there a thread with every thing I need to know about oil change intervals, air filters, scheduled maintenance, waxing the car, etc? there is probably a lot i don't know about this thing in order to take good care of it and make it last. my friend has a 04S and treats the thing like crap and it's always in the shop, so I don't want to mess around with it. anyone have any good advice on maintenance to keep this thing running smooth over 100k? I do about 15k p/yr. thanks!

Best advice I can give is to start reading the posts on this site.
Almost anything you can ask about a MINI Cooper has been asked and answered on this site. Take your time and just read.
If you still have questions use the search.
After that use normal reasonable maint to keep your car in good shape:
- Listen to unusual noised and address them right away
- Regular fluid changes
- Use premium fuel (yes it is required for an S)
- Wash and wax
- Check tire pressure
I have an 04 MCS with 63k and only normal maint. Your car can last well over 100k.
