Got a Magnaflow cat back. Direct bolt on?

I just bought a Magnaflow #16815. It supposed to be a direct bolt on to the OEM dp correct? It looks like its too short to connect to the dp. The Invidia comes in 3 sections and has the flex coupling and I know that exhaust bolts right up. My cat back it in two sections and I don't see how its going to bolt up with out adding a section of pipe. If anyone has this catback how was it installed?

Magnaflow

this is where the Magnaflow stops

The Invidia

way too short...you'll need piping put in there...

Even if it reached all the way, that won't bolt on...theres no flange for the v-band to clamp onto

I bought it because I thought it was a direct bolt on. This is not what I wanted. Guess I will return it. What a PITA

Direct from Magnaflow. If I can find someone with a OEM exhaust they dont need anymore I can make it work.

It's almost like they are missing a piece? Definitely call them up and *****...then if that fails, get an Invidia

Looks to me that you would have to cut the stock pipe but leave enough slack to fine tune the correct length, then slip joint the magnaflow exhaust into the stock pipe.Honestly doesn't seem that big of a deal to me.

Yea I was looking at that. It's not missing any pieces. Thats exactly how it comes from Magnaflow. I just wished it was a direct bolt on like the Invidia. I Like the 3.5" tips better on the Magnaflow and have always ran Magnaflow on my other cars/trucks. I may still go with the Invidia.

It IS kind of dodgy that they don't describe the pipe cutting except in the install PDF. It's represented as a bolt on product.

Looks like it's really meant to bolt up after the 2nd cat and then use some type of adapter with a lap-clamp. Welcome to aftermarket B.S.

You'll have to visit an exhaust shop if you want things done correctly and leak-free. It will sound great when it's done.

I don't have this exhaust, but that Magnaflow kit is a cat-back exhaust - as in, from the 2nd cat back. Its not designed to go from the downpipe back like the Invidia. You will have to measure the length of the Magnaflow system and accurately cut off your stock exhaust after the 2nd cat to make it fit. An exhaust shop should be able to handle it easily.

I don't have my factory exhaust or dp anymore. I drove to the muffler shop this morning with just a catless dp on. The drive was a little noisy. Lol. They installed my cat back and mated it to my OBX midpipe in about 30 min. Did a great job and charged me 50 bux. I haven't driven my car in over 10 days. It seemed slower than when I had the factory resonator and JCW exhaust. I did a couple of 0-60 runs and according to my Accessport, I ran my best time ever, 5.2 seconds. My pervious best was 5.3. I'm not sure if its too loud yet. I need to take it out on the highway and listin. If it has any droan I might add a Magnaflow resonator. So far I really like the exhaust and sound. I can't wait to get off work and go drive.

Well after driving around today after work I decided it was too loud. I dont want to attract any attention so I'm going to add a resonator.
