Suspension Ireland Engineering Camber plates Left & Right??
Ireland Engineering Camber plates Left & Right??
Along with the Power Flex Bushings, Inner Ball Joints, Left & Right side Drive Shafts, Steering Rack, Adjustable TSW Rear Bars and Radiator Fan, I also installed the IE 1.25 Negative Camber plates.
I took the car in for an alignment only to find that I had "Positive" Camber. Am I Pissed! I looked at the plates and did not see any markings to show left or right side and thinking that what ever position they are on one side, It will be the same on the other.
Now I am told that I need to switch the plates! I can understand that if I was changing Caster that switching the plates would change the Caster by either moving the strut top backward or Forward, but not left to right?
Anyone else have this problem?

Well, think about it… if we examine the driver side camber plate and it's fixed at -1.25° then the tire would lean toward the center of the car by that amount of angle.
Mounting the driver side plate on the passenger side would make the passenger side tire lean away from the center of the car an equal amount, giving you +1.25° of camber.
All other things being equal that is.

I Ground a "L" and "R" onto the plates and think it is STUPID that they do not come marked since the plates are Identical but one plate is USD to make the difference. I also cannot believe that "Their Lawyers" would say thay it is better not to give any instructions or Mark the Plates as opposed to them being installed wrong and make the car Less Safe?
