R56 manual transmission owners - post here please!

I am trying to get a feel for how long we can expect our orginal OEM clutches to last. Please post your year (07 - 11), type (MC or MCS) and the miles you have on original clutch.

2010 MC, 3,900 miles so far.

Trying to determine if the replacement clutches are mostly on MCS, and around what miles they seem to be (prematurely) failing.

Thanks.

Don't laugh...brings bad karma. I've revmatched in all my manual transmission cars, including the MCS. This is the only one to have a flywheel needing to be replaced, let alone be replaced at 2K miles.

Maybe another tidbit needed in this equation is how "spirited" the MINI is driven?

I traded my leased 07 MCS in at 34k miles (Bought March07 and Turned in May 09). Clutch was fine
I got a 09 MCS (May 09) and i am currently at 21k. So far so good!

The 07 MCS had about 40/60 highway/local driving.
The 09 MCS was about the same for the first 9 months. Now i travel more for work and i only drive on the weekends. So the 09 gets more road trips and drives to my parents (90% highway). But when i say highway it is norther NJ highway so i can be deal with a lot of NYC caused traffic.

Great post! I'm looking at buying an MCS with 50,000+ miles on it and I'm wondering if I need to worry about replacing a clutch in the near future.

2008/6,500 miles and counting

...by the way maybe MINI clutches are prone to wear out quick hence the topic, but I had 278,000 miles on my Jeep and same clutch, 176k on our Camry and clutch is still going fine, 24K on my Porsche and clutch is still great. ....in fact I've never had to replace a clutch on any car.

2009 cooper s. still going strong at 22k. I don't track it, but I drive pretty aggressive. No drag launches either.

2010 MCS ~ 5200 miles all is good. I've replaced one clutch in 32 years of driving manuals. That was a 87Mazda B2600 4X4 at 64,000 miles. My 97 Honda Civic EX had 154,000 on the original clutch when it was stolen and stripped.

2008 MCS ~ 39K

Bought it used though and the dealer advised me the previous owner brought it in complaining of a clutch issue, but the technicians never found any issue. I have had no problems at all.

07 MCS with 52k on it and I smoked 3rd gear on accident the other night. I was at a light thought I was in 1st ya I wasn't and well I hate the smell of clutch.

2009 JCW purchased new on 11-28-08. Driven like I stole it from day one. 19,000 miles so far. I am considering getting the OS Giken clutch as I do not think that this clutch will last a long time with the RMW tune.

1994 Acura Integra with 150K miles. Still has the original clutch.

We have:

'08 MCS driven pretty hard with 36k and knock on wood...no problems.
'09 MCS driven more conservatively 11.3k and no problems.

We take good care of our cars, have had 4- MINI's, all manual, no real problems.
