Whats a good exhaust for my R50?

I'm looking for an exhaust for my 2006 Mini Cooper (Non-S). I prefer Borla, but it seems that every one I run across is the the S for JCW, which exits in the center of the bumper which wont work for my ride. Any suggestions?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I highly recommend the JCW Sound Kit for the R50. Here's my initial review:

About 9 months later, I'm still thrilled with this upgrade.

Hope that helps.

I loved the Remus Sport Exhaust that installed on my old R50. Not sure if they even still make it, but it was a nice exhaust.

I have a Borla for for my 2002 Cooper.

Waylen from Way Motor Works hooked me up. Check with him even if it isn't listed on his website.

I have a Megan, combined with a K&N 57i intake, and Im very pleased with the results. The Megan has a deep, throaty presence without being obnoxiously loud.

Megan Megan Megan Megan! Love hear they came to NAM and asked R50 owners what they wanted in an exhaust before they designed it. Very British sports car sounding and DEFINITELY not ricey. Easy install but im sure all of the installs are near the same. For the price (got mine for 350) Megan is once of the best bang for you buck.

megan mod

i've got an 06 R50 a while back I installed a megan exhaust- Loved the sound but on a long road trip it got to be a bit loud- I almost reinstalled the stock exhaust- BUT, just for fun i took off the stock exhaust tip and placed it over the megan - it quieted down the tone- I had it spot welded onto the megan- Long road trips are once again a joy!

If you're into a bit of noise you should go with the Magnaflow. I have it on my car, and i like it very much. But I can't say if it's better than the alternatives, because I haven't tried them.

Here is a short sound-clip of my Magnaflow cat-back:

I like the Milltek exhaust. Sturdy, not too loud, looks good, stainless steel construction.

For the price you really can't beat the Megan Exhaust.

I do have a JCW sound kit for a Cooper here, but they are way more expensive.

I too have the way/ddm intake and the megan exhaust. LOVE the set up. Always get compliments on the sound and the car did get some hp gains. I have a RMW tune as well, so that clearly helps a bit..

I have the MiniMania exhaust that isn't available any longer but do yourself a favor and don't bother with the JCW. It's just not that much more sound or power for the money. I wanted one for a long time but got my exhaust off craigslist for like $150. That's about 1/10th of the original cost. Fish around out there!
