headlight coverings
i just purchased a set for my headlights, fogs and turn signals. It seems nice and thick but i am nervous about installing it. The protective clearcoat is starting to come off one of my headlights and worry about how it will look. Maybe i will polish them good and install them.
Yes, I put it over mine and so far it held up just fine for over a year. I would think a kit would be hard to install as most "kits" I've seen are cut to the exact size. Since the lights have compound curves it takes quit a tug to get it installed without creases. The most economical way to do it is to buy a couple of feet of the material from a dealer and install it yourself. This way one can cut the pieces larger for hand holds and then trim it to the correct size when finished. Since one is doing it on the "bulbs" one can't hurt anything if the razor blade slips.
I got mine from Moss about 4 years ago.
It was a pain to put on because of the compound curves of the headlights, but it has been great. 4 years with no damage or other problems.

Spray soapy water on the headlight, lay the film on headlight, use a heat gun to form it, lift the film off , spray the light again, pull the backing off the film, spray the film, apply film to headlight
Lamin-X...mine is the "tint" version, a very slight tint to them. Also did the fogs in the same thing.
