I bought my Mini from the dealer with the tuning kit pre installed but I have driven an S without one and notice a huge difference. There are mods you can do to get equal/more power then a tuning kit will provide and it will be much cheaper... but maintaining the warranty is a benefit IMO.

That…is…BEYOND expensive. You could get a turbo-back exhaust, a REALLY nice intake, new intercooler, a garrett turbo with manifold, and a tune for less than that. Just saying.

1600 for turbo back if you buy a complete kit
2000 for disco potato
700 for intercooler
500 (I think) for m7 intake
400-500 for hard pipes
Canned tune 800 + dyno-tune (varies)
Let's add another 1500 on for surprises.

That's almost $8,000US. Not that you would ever do this, since this is kind of extreme, but just putting it into perspective. You would be better off getting a turbo-back, intake, intercooler, and canned tune from either RMW or Alta...

The tuning kit is great by definitely not worth that kind of money. Also, some folks don't like the exhaust tone or "drone" at certain RPMs or under load. I have the tune and swapped out the tune supplied JCW exhaust for a full factory JCW exhaust. I personally prefer the factory JCW exhaust. I also have the JCW aero kit and love that as well.

How much does the cooper S cost base price in brasil?

$8k for the JCW kit is outrageous. Gotta be a very ugly exchange rate.

MINI COOPER S BRASIL=>US$70.000
AERO KIT=>US$5.000
TUNNING KIT => US$8.000

I would like to live in USA , here we pay lot of taxes.

Any part that I try to import need to pay 150% more in taxes

How is the result for JCW Kit? Is it good?

Thanks!!!

wow that stinks for you. I've heard similar horror prices in asia.

The JCW kit is not $8000 good. I guess if you could afford a $70,000 car though you may afford the $8k.

Oh wow, an $8,000 JCW tuning is a hard pill swallow...

Then again, so is a $70,000 MCS...

Would I ever pay $8k for a tuning kit? No.

Would I ever get the aero kit before the tuning kit? No.

If you're concerned with warranty and you want more power I think it's the best route. The JCW kit is fantastic, everything is enhanced it seems. I've driven a lot of JCW tuning kit cars.

There are cheaper options out there though with the risk of a denied warranty claim.... Tough call man
