Hood Insulator

Just seeing if anyone knows, I have an 09 MCS and it has the small hood insulator right over the turbo. Theres plenty of holes for clips in the hood, does any other model have a larger hood insulator? Maybe a Camden, or something with a more premium package? A larger insulator would definitely help with noise and possibly temps too. Im not looking for a Dynamat Hoodliner option, but a factory option. Or is the small insulator I have the only option?

All of the models have the same insulator. I don't think the noise level would change greatly with a larger insulator anyway. I feel like noise isn't much of a problem with our cars anyway.

There are after-market heat-shields to control temperature the turbo releases into the upper level of the engine bay.

A friend of mine just got his 2010 MCS convertible 2 weeks ago. His hood did NOT come with an insulator under the bonnet scoop, and his hood is extremely hot all of the time. He called the dealer and was told after March 2010 that mini stopped installing them. Is this true? With all the hood scoop warping/melting problems, I find this hard to believe. Anyone?

Earlier than that my friend. I ordered a 2010 in July 09, delivered in Sep 09, and no hood insulator on mine either. Looked incomplete under the hood with the hood still having the mounting holes and lip, so I put one on from and 09.

A full insulator would make a big difference on engine noise. I checked my hood too and fiatdale is right, theres holes for a full hood insulator. Its like the designed the car to receive one but i bet the bean counters axed it. What about a 2002? Hood isnt much different. Im well aware of the different bodystyle changes since 2002, but when referring to something like an insulator, the changes are minimal.
