JCW Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps - loose fit?

I picked up a set the other day from a fellow NAMer on the marketplace. I have the power folding mirrors and have the correct mirror caps. None of the clips are broken.

Do your mirror caps fit loosely? Can you squeeze the top and bottom of the cap and get the clips to pop out? If so did you do anything to make it fit tighter like use hot glue to keep the clips from popping out of the holes?

Any advice is apprenticed.

The CF caps do fit looser than the plastic ones but I haven't heard of them popping off if you squeezed them.

Do you have them on your car? I am worried about the rain getting in to the assembly and messing up the electronics.

Yes. Genuine BMW parts. They came in boxes with BMW markings and have BMW stickers inside. The fit is not the best. I might take them back to the dealer and have them glue them in place.

The upper clip closest to the window is the real problem. It does not seem to be long enough and does not really clip/click into place. These are things that I noticed when I tried to put the drivers side on myself. I gave up on that side. I moved onto the passenger side and promptly cracked the mirror when trying to remove it. So I took it to the dealer. I thought they would do a better job than me. Guess not.

I replaced my original black caps with the black jack's one thing I did notice is the original caps had fabric tape applied to each clip on the cap side. The new ones did not. So, I put a piece of a cloth tape in each clip just like the original one was. I think it helps to tighten the caps a little better.
