Interior/Exterior auto up windows for just a few quid
Very nice post. Do you know which two wires in the harness to use if you wanted to use the module for the driver's side window? (U.S-spec 1st-Gen MINIs don't even have "Auto-Up" for the driver's window.)
I already have Ian's "Auto-Up" circuit on both of our cars, but if you just want the auto-up functionality and nothing else, it's hard to beat a resistor, a capacitor and a few wires for simplicity.

i dunno really, just saw it and wanted to share w the community.
my US car doesn't have auto up for either one...is this different for UK models then?
its just really annoying for me, and i dont know where to get anything that fixes this, or where to get this Ians thing either, and who is ian anyway?

I have had one for many years...it was orgionaly made by a member, and sold as a hobby....FES took it over a couple years back when Ian, the orgional builder, did not have time to sell it anymore. It also has some other useful features....
Like
Auto Up Windows
Once the auto-up feature has been enabled, it can be activated by a quick single or double click (mode dependent) up of the appropriate window toggle switch. If you click the toggle switch down while the auto-up is active, the circuit will immediately cancel its signal and window movement will stop.
Track-Mode DSC DefeatThe Mini dynamic stabillity control is what's known as a "slow" system, cutting power when driving agressively on the track. When enabled, this feature turns off the DSC system a few seconds after starting the car. No more heading out onto the track and feeling that loss of power to remind you that you didn't turn the system off.
Auto Front Fog LightsWhen this feature is enabled, the front fog lights will turn on whenever the headlights are turned on. The toggle will still work as normal, so if you want to turn them off (when there's lots of traffic around, for example) you still can. Like all features in this module, it is programmed via the toggle panel.
Stealth Mode Accessory Control
Two channels of Stealth Mode Accessory Control are built into the new V7 circuit. The channels can be configured to be latching for turning accessories on and off, or momentary, for controlling devices like garage remote controls. Latching outputs are "sticky" so that whatever they are set at is remembered on the next start of the car.
Toggle Switch Mode Selection
No dip switches here! The circuit is put into "program mode" by holding the lock toggle for 5 seconds. The peizo gives audio feedback too! You can change the settings as needed in moments. Leaving the track at the end of a day? Just turn off the "track mode DSC" and have the safety benefits of dynamic stabillity control on the street. Driving in city traffic for a few days? Turn of AFF in moments. Once the circuit is installed, you never need to turn a screwdriver to change settings at all.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks, but for the moment it's sitting in my closet since I'm too scared to attempt the install!!
Maybe I'll check out the local MINI clubs to see if someone can babysit me while I try!
