Whalen Shift ***** - Pics Please!

Hey Everyone,

I got to meet Doug Whalen today and spent some time with him in his shop. I didn't even know about the Whalen Shift ***** and e-brake handles until a couple of days ago.
And to top it off, he lives about 20 miles from me and is a Vendor on here.

http://www.whalenshiftmachine.com

Well, to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement.

So....
I saw some of his "standard" shift *****. I'd love to see some of the more elaborate designs he has made for people on NAM.

If you have a pic, please share it. I can't wait to get this mod done on our car!!!

a Whalen shift **** is one of those things that once have one you'll ask yourself why did I wait so long to get one.

I ordered a polished **** engraved with the MINI wreath, and a brake handle from Whalen. Not cheap, but IMHO, freakin' awesome, and I'm more than satisfied that I got my money's worth.

I already have a Whalen ****; it's just the standard MINI wing with the shift patteron on it. You mentioned e-brake handles. Someone post a pic of theirs. I may be very interested in getting one.

I don't have a picture of any, but when I visited Doug, I saw about 3 different ones. He can engrave the ebrake handles also! They look GREAT! Hopefully someone will put up a pic of theirs pretty soon. Doug had one in his 09 JCW that I drove. It fit very nicely and looked like it was made for it.

If you go to his site and then scroll down to "gallery" (left side of screen), there are pics of the ebrakes there.

I have to say, I am really impressed with the quality of work that I saw here and on his site. Plus he responds quickly to emails; I sent one off to him about shipping to Canada and he got back to me right away. Now I just need to come up with a design...........maybe a Canadian Flag?

My Whalen

Here is what Doug just finished for me this afternoon. I can't wait to get my hands on this guy. I've gone from Dark Silver to Darth Silver in color.

That is awesome!

Is that a TIE fighter? I know it isn't an X-Wing. Forgive me for not knowing everything about the Star Wars universe.

It is Darth Vader's Tie Fighter from the first movie. Doug did a great job with the image, keeping so much of the detail. I can't wait to see it in person as Doug said the picture doesn't do it justice.

You know what's even more geeky than that TIE fighter shift ****? I know that the photo shows the fighter upside down.

How's that for geeky? I built more than a couple of those Darth Vader TIE fighters plastic models when I was a kid...and I have a Code 3 die-cast Darth Vader TIE fighter on display in my house.

Cool ****!

Oops! I guess that shows how much I know about Star Wars.
All I can remember vividly is Princess what's her name, in her bikini.

That is funny, I was so excited about how it looked I never noticed it was upside down. Nice to know I'm not the only geek on here.

Over the last 24hrs I have been in communication with Doug from http://www.whalenshiftmachine.com/

I can not iterate how professional, patient and overall a pleasure to work with him it has been. I was originally going for the 50th Anniversary design with a few custom engraves and it became very apparent that "less is more" and he listened and put together some work that is simple yet very effective.

I am really pleased with the results and am one very happy customer, here they are:
