ViperGTS, Thanks for starting this tread, otherwise I never would have known about Whalen Shift Machine. Doug's working on a shift **** and ebrake for me know (Christmas presents for my wife) and he's been excellent to deal with. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them. Thanks again

Actually it's a T.I.E Interceptor AKA T.I.E Advanced! What can I say, SW geek since 1977! It's a fantastic looking shift ****, it makes me want one with an X-Wing on it!

All the shift ***** in this thread really are amazing craftsmanship on Doug's part. But I have to say greg, that one of yours is probably my favorite...............next to mine of course

I think it would have to be the Millennium Falcon.

My brother worked in the special effects lab for the first movie. I got to see the model shop where all the ships were built, and the computerized camera system for filming them. It was run by an Apple II with a tape drive!

Doug makes great stuff. I buy adaptors from him.

Robin,
An Apple II? That is great! '77 was so long ago. I love your wood shifters. If I had the wood interior I would have went with yours. The Dark Silver with Black just screamed Vader to me though. I have to watch myself with this, I was so excited to show it off, I asked my aunt to come out to my car so I could show her my ****. Yikes!

Both you and Doug should be proud of what you do for the MINI community.

Joe

I've been meaning to add to this thread for weeks now...

Long story short, I had been considering one of Doug's shift ***** for quite some time. Not just any one, but this one: http://thewhalenshiftmachine.shutterfly.com/142
Well, it turned out that I was passing through Doug's part of the world; the stars lined up, and voila, there I was, able to meet Doug, get a tour of his shop, and get the shift ****, as I continued my cross-country trip from western NY to Oregon.

I can' speak highly enough about the whole experience! Doug was super (as was ViperGTS, who happened to show up while I was there) and the shift **** is the cat's jammies (or dog's, in this case). I absolutely love it. It's verrry smoooooth, great to the touch, and effortlessly allows me to move through the gears, which I found myself doing just a few times going cross-country and back!

Well done--thanks Doug!

Whalen Shift ***** are a very nice looking and very custom part for the MINI. I really like them but, when it came to me I went with TWM performance because I have a SSK in my MINI and I did not want to put the adapter on to run the stock or like the Whalen ***** because it would have put the **** higher then I wanted it. Like I said though these are a little more customizable then TWM *****.
