Kansas City Wrenching party

I am hosting a wrenching party at my house tomorrow (Sat, Aug 21) for a local car club (KC Wrenching Society, go to kcws.org if you want to check out the website) that I belong to. Its primarily a Porsche oriented club but I'd love to get more MINI's involved locally. This is a completely NON-commercial gathering of car enthusiasts, no one will be trying to sell anything to anyone, we just like to hang out and have fun.

Shoot me a PM if you'd be interested in coming out, but the basic schedule is as follows:

10am: show up at my house, we are going to have about ten or twelve Porsches there working on various things. BTW, I have a lift in my garage if you need to do any under car service.

11:30am We'll be firing up the grill. We've had some epic food at previous wrenching sessions as one of our members has done memphis style ribs, jambalya, home made bread pudding etc, so who knows. Plenty of beer and liquid refreshment will be on hand (but we do take a seriously dim view of indulging if you are going to be driving, so be warned on that).

1:00pm ish: Wrap up the wrenching and then we are going to cruise to Heartland Park for the vintage races. We'll be cruising out there by way of Lake Clinton, and again, we've been accused of having some rather epic cruises, so again, be warned. We tend to go to the far side of "spirited driving", and a bunch of us have a pretty serious track habit.

3:00pm Arrive at HPT and take in the races until 5ish

Show up for as much or as little as you'd like. We have a great group of folks and are very friendly towards car enthusiasts, regardless of make. We are definitely not cork sniffers, we tend to dive in and get dirty working on the cars.
