I just acquired my 3rd MINI. Its a 2006 MCS Cabrio with the MINI Nav system. Being an "old skool" kind of guy, I have never been a big fan of GPS, but it looks like it could be useful.

The GPS version installed is SW 4-16 (...I think). The manual matches the system perfectly and identifies itself as representing "software version 6.0".

Does anyone know if this the latest version that can be used on a 1st Gen MINI, or is there a more recent update?

1.) If there is a newer update the usual questions apply (where, how much, whaddaya get, etc.)?

2.) I know the 2nd Gen MINIs use a very different GPS system, at least based on what I have seen. Is there a way to upgrade or use the software for the Gen 2 GPS or are we stuck with the older Gen 1 system for eternity?
