How do you hook up external amp to stock non-HK head unit?

Hi all,

I am writing to ask if anyone has hooked up an external amp to the stock non-HK head unit. I looked to see if there are pictures of the back of the unit but could find any. Does this head unit have RCA outputs?

A few other questions:
-how is the remote wire hooked up also? Maybe splice into the power running from the battery to the head unit?
-are there special considerations for hooking up the amp since it would be for a subwoofer versus multi channel for component speakers?

Thanks in advance for you help!

There are no RCA outputs, but you could just tap into the speaker wires. Most amps have a special input for this. If your amp doesn't have this input they make converters from speaker level input to RCA output. See:

The remote wire can come from the stereo power wire but make sure it's the switched wire and not constant power wire.

The amp will connect up exactly like a multi channel amp. If it has two channels check to see if it can be bridged to one channel.
