Problem with Bluetooth and Blackberry Curve

Hi, Folks.
My old Blackberry 8700 worked beautifully with the bluetooth in my clubman. Unfortunately, that phone died. I replaced it with a Curve and the bluetooth does not work well. Specifically, the phone pairs perfectly. All functionality and phone navigation via the dashboard works perfectly. Incoming audio sounds fine. Here's the problem: outgoing audio is buried in static. No one can understand what I say.

The search for a solution has been interesting. RIM sent me to Mini -- thinking I need a software upgrade. My local Mini dealer says the problem also exists with another BB model -- the Bold, I think. They are at a loss -- sent me to internet forums. (They did, however, give me the service manager's card -- saying that they are very interested in what I might learn. How's that for service? )

So I turn to my fellow NAMers. Anyone run into and solve this problem?

There has been a problem with a few models of phone and MINI's bluetooth system. It has something to do with how the bluetooth system wants to upload your address book the first time you pair the phone...but in the cases of these few phones, it wants to upload it EVERY time you pair, and it maxes out the system's memory and it just crashes.

There also is a list in 2nd Gen Audio & Navigation of the compatible and non-compatible phones. If your phone is not compatible, I'm not sure that there's a way to make it so.

As everything else but the outgoing sound is good I would suspect that either the phone itself is bad or that the inital pairing is bad.

Delete the paring from both the phone and the car and then try paring them again.

If that does not work see if you can pair the phone with someone elses car and see if the output sound is good or bad. If bad then the problem is with the phone. If good try repairing another time and let me know how it comes out.

This has never been a problem with the BB phones and also the OP stated that the contact list/phone book work just as they should. And this would not cause a problem with the outgoing voice only.
