2006 R50 - Injen Intake - install questions

Picked up a new-in-box Injen intake for my R50 from a fellow MINI member. Pulled out the OEM intake and put the Injen one in according to the instructions, but the filter is fouling on the driver's side motor mount. When I close th bonnet it pinches the filter between the mount and the bonnet.

Any suggestions?

It certainly sounds good above 4k RPM. My gas mileage is going to get shot all to hell now!

From the looks of it, I think the intake is supposed to be attached to the bolt that is front of the current attachment point. You can see it in the picture that you posted first, then the filter would clear that mount no problem. If I am wrong, then the hood may just need some adjustment.

I bought the aFe over the Injen (I usually buy Injen) because of fitment, the heat shield, and my bro just started working for a BMW tuner that really believed in the product. A great piece for sure.

I will double check that today. I want to say there was only one hole for me to attach the little rubberiezed double-bolt to.

I got the Injen only because I got a great deal and it was brand new. My original plan was to go with the WAY/DDM/Megan setup for intake & exhaust. Hopefully I just missed a bolt hole!

Crap. I just saw in another thread that this particular filter won't fit the 06. I guess I gotta e-mail Injen and ask.

There is only one screw hole for that rubber double-ended jammie. Upon closer inspection...the box says "02-05 Cooper." Dammit. :( Now I gotta get a different one.

Won't fit the 05+ models. My dad figured that out and sent it back to Moss Mini. The only reason they took it back was because they advertised that it fits (in fact their latest catalogs still do). Replaced with aFe, no problems. I believe the WMW also fits no problem.

I really should have checked. I remembered reading it in the Moss catalog that it fit, so when someone offered one to me I snapped it up. (sigh) Dangit.

I think I am going to go back to the stock airbox, sell the Injen, and stet my car up to run in the H Stock class for SCCA Auto-x in the next few months. Sure sounded angrier with the intake though.
