Where do you get you maintenance work done on your out of warrantee MINI

I’m trying to decide whether or not to buy the MINI service plan. Where do you get you out of warrantee work done? What are the prices like? Who resets you maintenance service lights? Are they able to reset the maintenance warning lights?

1. About 5 steps from my kitchen.
2. Parts + my time
3. You can reset your service lights via the indicator controls.
4. Any OBDII scanner should be able to clear MIL faults.

I would expect to pay $65-$85 dollars per hour (plus parts) for maintenance work here in the midwest. It may be higher or lower in your location.

MIL faults should be able to be cleared by any shop. Anything that is BMW-specific may not be able to be cleared except with a BMW-specific tool. I am unsure.

My shop was unable to reset the service lights on a 2nd generation mini for brakes/oil etc. They said that they need a tool and software program to do it. Is this true? I know 1st genners can reset on their fob or dash in a series of not so common commands. Any help out there for a car out of warranty so that I do not have to go back to the dealer? Thank all.

Have your read the R56 Service/Brake light thread that's sticky in the Stock Problems/Issues section? That may answer your questions! (It's the second thread, check it out, I found it very helpful)

Thank you for the response "gregsmini". I did find information under "R56 Oil light" etc. Very helpful and to you thanks again. Lets hope it works as the travel to the dealer is a pain. I'll then share it with my local shop.

For others having the same or similar issues this is under "R56 Service/brake lights etc reset procedure". Twister posts the procedure from Tar Heel Mini Motoring Club. Thanks Twister. Your help is much appreciated.
