Fit & Finish

How good or bad is it. I'd say mine can certainly can be (nit) picked apart.
I noticed the rear bumper cover does not match 100%. Looks slightly whiter. Was Port installed. I wonder how service is going to handle this.
Also has some sag.
How's your Mini's F & F?

No complaints after 9 months. Mine seems to be very well put together.

I'll get it worked out. Not letting it bother me. (sure it's not)
The body kit was Port installed and not painted at same time the MINI therefor not matching perfectly. Anyway,Thanks for the compliment.

According to MotoringFiles, these are the bits installed "at port":
Once in the US, the following accessories are added at the port rounding out the look of the car:
  • John Cooper Works Aero Kit painted in Pepper White (R55, R57)
  • John Cooper Works Aero Kit painted in Pepper White with Wheel Arches in body color (R56)
  • MINI Driving Lamps in Black
  • Jet Black Mirror Caps
  • Laurel Sport Edition Side Scuttles
  • Laurel Sport Edition Door Sills
  • Laurel Sport Edition Bonnet, Roof and Tailgate Stripes
  • Laurel Sport Edition Side Panel Stripes
Are the bumpers part of the aero kit? Surprising they would screw-up something so simple - and since dealers are only getting 1 Laurel per body type, it's not like the numbers would be overwhelming.

Yes, bumpers are part of the Aero kit

They are standard factory painted Aero Kit parts in PW for bolt up at the port, and those JCW kits have been produced since 2007/8. So they could have been mfg and sprayed some time ago.

Someone in service said it is not uncommon because the bumpers are plastic. I don't buy that. When I bring it in the first time I'll address it and look for a better answer.

Service called today...asked me to bring it in to evaluate. I'll do that next week. The gent that called sounded sincere. We'll see how it goes.
Meanwhile I am enjoying this little car.

Hope it turns out well.... I thought the Laurel was sharp looking.. the added at the Port parts was the reason I did not jump on one for just what your dealing with...

yea...but I'll work it out. This is all new to me. Like everything else....it's a learning experience.
I might leave it alone. The less people to handle the car the better. As soon as something is out of your hands and control anything goes.

I would be tempted to leave that alone. Dealer run paint shops make me very nervous.

They use an independent shop. I'm very apprehensive. Also, this will be a hassle and big inconvenience. I'll see what kind of mood I'm in when they call me.
