Anyone know what the factory Nav unit uses as an input to the screen?

Has anyone ever tried to display anything else on that screen?

Can whatever is giving the signal to the screen give that signal to another screen?


Basically my goal would be to either have a switch to a Mac mini or something to get control of the Nav screen and display other things on it.

OR

If the Nav screen sucks as bad as I think it does I would want to replace the screen with something full color and hi-def giving me the ability to display what I want on it and also to switch back easily to send the factory Nav signal to the aftermarket screen.

Has anyone done anything like this? Can anyone shed any light on any aspect of this?

In Europe, there is a broadcast TV option for the Nav, so it is possible to display other video. The only aftermarket interfaces I've seen are the very expensive ones at Newministuff: http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...roducts&cat=37

Looks like I'm going to have some taking apart to do. Those prices are nuts for that kit. If I figure out whatever I'm doing here I promise to offer a much much more reasonable kit.
