Is there any advantage to having new steering rack poly bushings put in?

I'm having a new steering rack put in soon. So while it's out, is there any sort of advantage to putting a poly bushing in place of the old one? My guess is no, but just wanted to be sure.

Depends......are the old ones worn?

If so it might be a good idea to change them to the poly's if you don't mind a bit more vibration at the wheel. They will last much longer than the oEM ones did.

The Powerflex steering rack bushing is such a cheap mod, it def. can't hurt since you have the rack out.

To be honest I can't feel any difference, but the poly will definitely last longer. My old rubber ones were quite brittle by the time I removed them. Old age

I put the poly version in while I had the poly engine mounts put in just for peace of mind.

Since one side of the rack is directly bolted to the subframe, there is just no reason that changing to poly on that other side.
