200K On My 04 MCS!

Yesterday on my way home from Thunderhill.
Still on the original supercharger! (but I do have one waiting in the wings!)

Nice. I have just gone over 90K on my '02 MCS and was worried about replacing stuff. I guess I can relax a bit.

What items have you replaced on your '04?

That's an awesome mile marker I'm working on my MCS trying to get it back together (bought it wrecked) and my 2000 ES Lexus is 9000 shy of the 200k club! haha

How often do you change your oil? What kind?

Thanks All!!!
I change oil at 7500-8000 using Redline or Royal Purple and a NAPA Gold (Wix) filter. (#7303 at the NAPA store)
Use Redline MTL in the trans.
Original clutch lasted 153,000 miles. Recently replaced the Power Steering Hoses and the reservior, a leaking t/stat and a leaking sensor o-ring.
Friends who ride with me are amazed at the lack of squeaks and rattles, even with the stiff suspension.

Cheers!
Jim

Glad you made it that far!

I had 115K on my old '02 MCS when I totalled it. I was planning on keeping it for the really long haul, too.

On a driving technique scale of 1 to 10--10 being driving the living pi$$ out of it, where are you on that scale to achieve such an acomplishment? Congrats

Good question! Let's see......
I would say an average of 6-7ish with a 9 thrown in on the weekends.
Mon-Fri it's my commuter car. 75 freeway miles a day. When I have a free Sat or Sun I do like to hit the twisties. Even then, I rarely take it all the way to redline.

Thanks!
Jim

Ha! Congrats to you! Good job on the supercharger, mine lasted until 190k w/ the 15%. But I got you beat on the clutch still on my original at 228k.

It good to hear of another one running strong over 200k - mine too has very few rattles

AMAZING! I hope you get another 200k! I love posts like this...

I see that you are from San Francisco... I was there last July for 2 weeks visiting a friend and I totally fell in love with the city. She lives near Baker Beach (I think that is what it is called at least...) I saw seals playing in the ocean, watch the fog roll in, pretended to go to Starfleet Academy (Presidio) hahahaha.

You are so lucky to live where you live. I took pictures of EVERY MINI I saw. There were A LOT which I found surprising because... I'm not sure that I would want to drive a standard in Sanfrancisco! (I noticed that the city is hard on rims too!)

Again... congrats.

Have you ever had to replace anything major? Can you breakdown your repairs - skip the minor stuff. Thanks!

Congrats!!!

According to a MI-5's recent investigation of Mini, classified R&D documents indicates only 2% of Minis will go beyond 200k. According the VIN #, mine won't make it pass 100k. The rest will turn a healthy profit for BMW.
