Quick Run Saturday May 15th
Quick Run Saturday May 15th
A few of us from Nj are going to make a run up to bear mountain Saturday around noon, grab some lunch and then maybe motor over to high point for some Photo's, all are welcome
Wow Peg...you are one fast dudette! I just read this post and then went to look at another one and saw that you JUST responsed to Jim as I was leaving the thread...you be a fast mama!
If it had been at any other time I'm sure we would be going. I have to hop a plane out to Minneapolis Sunday morning and won't be back until late Tuesday. So Dorothy and I are going to be making the last minute preps for the trip (business related) on Saturday. I sure do hope we don't have any eruptors while we're out there!
I think we are planning on leaving around noon , from Parsippany, heading up to bear Mountain, no set place to eat yet, but the Stadium sounds good to me.
The weather is great outside, good day for some pictures and some driving

I spotted Ray ("Dreamingtwig") at the Duncun Donuts on rt 10 Parsippany on Friday and mentioned this mini run idea to him. He sounded interested but I haven't heard from him since. I'll call him and you (Peggy) in a little bit (11:20am SAT currently). I just have to wake up a bit first, I'm downing a Moutain Dew at the moment. This "Distortion" flavored Mountain Dew is horrible by the way!
I hope Jim can figure out how to hook up my scan gauge 2 when I see him later. :D I can not for the life of me figure out how to run a wire behind the dashboard for the thing and there doesn't seem to be any FAQs about doing this online which is surprising.

Ok Cheryl & I are heading out route 80 as it will take us a half hour to get to Parsippany anyhow. Steve if you could give us a call I would appreiciate it. Cheryl and I will just blast arround up there somewhere. Maybe hit Shades of Death Road (cause it looks and sounds cool) then head to Jenny Jump. Maybe catch a burger at Bells Mansion if you guys aren't going to Bear Mt. today.
Steve I have to say it was an excellent run today, some real good roads, and then lunch at the Chatterbox, with a car show. Hope more people turn up for our next impromtu run LOL
Peggy and Cheryl as always it was good to see you, I am so glad Cheryl spoke to lauren today, I think sometimes hearing things about college from someone closer to own age is better then hearing it from me, and Peggy thanks for moving Laurens car out of my driveway, that was brave of you LOL, hope you will be out on the run next week on Long Island.
PS I did get Steve's scanguage all wired up.

Hey Jim, Peggy, and Cheryl! Great to hang out with you guys today! Sorry we didn't get to High Point state park but I did make sure we road Shade of Death road as Peggy said she wanted to ride it in her above post. That is a great road and parts of the first "Friday the 13th" were filmed in the woods just off that road! Theres also all sorts of BS about Ghost Lake being haunted by Native Americans which makes it fun as well (Poltergeist-esk story of the man made lake being built on top of an indian burial ground...wiki it for the full story).

I love the roads in Warren County, I'm glad I could share them with you guys today. I know of another fun route in that area for some other time if there is interest. It seems like you guys had a good time.
Jim, thanks a bunch for the help with the scan gauge!!! Moments ago I applied the velcro tape to fix it to the dash. It looks great! When I see you for lunch next week I'll show you that air filter box I'm thinking about.

And a special thanks for the Shades of Death Road ride...
Would love to ride arround up there again.
I do... I picked his brain a little after seeing his camera & videos! I even use it everyday driving around... because you just never know who's aiming thier SUV at you or what else you might capture while driving around. The only drawback is sometimes I wish it wasn't a wide angle.
Oh My
No I didn't
Was going there today for Bald Eagles wich there was a total of 5 there today coasting about.I go thrue there on my Bikes once or twice a year but have to admit it was a great run with the cooper

Those are some good shots, we should make a run up there during the week sometime, morning or afternoon would be great and less traffic during the week
