Kinda new here

Hi fellow MONJ's! I'm kinda new here, and took this pic last week in Asbury Park. My friend asked if I had posted it on NAM, and I wasn't sure where it should go.

This was just coincidental. Mine is the BRG all the way on the right.

Hi Hummer,
Welcome into the fold...You will come across quite a few of us local Mini owners. Well...some are not so local such as inimini who just posted above. Try and get out to the Jackson outlet mall for our get-to-gether on the last Friday of each month (May 28th this month). You'll have a chance to meet a fair number of our local Miniacs.

I'll try to make it. Just curious what time. I work in Freehold, and being that it's Memorial Day weekend, I'll probably be out early. Although...if I'm early I could always go shopping!

Just wondering...what's the best way to acknowledge my fellow Minis? I'm finding the Monmouth County drivers tend to be shy & not respond to a wave or a headlight flash.

I find the occasional Mini driver that appears to ignore the wave and the blink, but then again every once in awhile my mind will drift off to some interesting subject while I'm driving home and then at the very last second I catch the glimpse of a Mini tail pipe that has just passed me in the opposite direction...so I tend to be a little forgiving of the occasional Mini driver that seems to be ignoring my wave or blink...he might have been in la-la land while you were doing your best to draw his/her attention.

As for the time of the gathering at the Jackson Outlet Mall...I can tell you that some have come as early as 5:30PM, but for the most part the bulk of the Minis start showing up from 6:00PM up until close to 9:00PM. When it gets near 9:00PM you will start to hear grumblings from the "hungry ones", and then the word will spread like wildfire..."Lets head out to Anthonys for some grub!". At that point you will see everyone heading for their cars and we form a train of Minis and take some twisty back roads out to Anthonys in Hamilton or Heightstown (Chris & Jen, two of our local Mini group own two restaurants) and we all gather for the feast...ala..."Drive-N-Eat".

Hey H.T.,
Being from Monmouth County I certainly know what you mean! But there are some of us out there that will always wave, honk, or whatever to the fellow MINI.

Welcome to the fold and also welcome to MiniNJGirl. See you all Friday!

Cheers
Mr. Jim
