Converting 2003 MCS to 2005~6 Getrag trans
I have a bad synro going into 2nd from 1st and 3rd. the clutch was failing as well. I now have the big parts (trans and Clutch kit Stage 1).
Does anyone know of any other parts that I should change at the same time?
I will change the belt and tentioner at the same time (that's an other story).
Any suggestions? here is what my riscci Mini DS/W MCS looks like:
What You See:
M7 ram scoop, DT black out chrome line, aero grille & non-run Michelin flat tires, PIAA H-7 bulb's.
What You Don't See:
Engine: Pulleys - M7 16% SC & DT 2% Crank, M7 180 thermostat, DT tensioner strap, Dinan CAI, Nology hot wires and Denso “IH-22” plug, Alta V2 air diverter, M7 oil catch can, Clutch Masters FX-200 Clutch (soon to be a FX-100) & Lightened Flywheel.
Transmission: 2005~6, 6 speed Getrag-factory remanufactured
Suspension: Dinan Strut Bar; H-Sport rear sway bar (25mm), Powerflex Bushing, Ireland poly motor/trans mounts.
Brakes: PowerSlot frozen rotors, Ferodo 2500 pads, SS lines and stiffened calipers, blacked out at the corners.
ECU: Remapping by Air Cooled Engines (Young St, Honolulu).
What waits for installation: Helix short shifter.
What is coming: Koni Sports suspension, DT by-pass valve, Exhaust, & Dyno tuned.

I have read about this being done before. Some wanting the lower gearing of the later model transmissions.
Modder had some issues with the compatability of the swap and regretted having done so. I don't remember all them exactly but one had to do with the speed control sensor and odometer.
