new nj mini owner
hello everybody i just picked up a 2003 mini cooper base in pepperwhite,i really love this car and am amazed how great it performs and the fit and finish after 99000 miles, the only problem is the air conditioning blows warm,is this a problem area on mini's?i checked the refigerant level and it says its good, anyone know a good mini mechanic that won't rake me over the coals lol, other than that the car runs and drives great! p.s. i live in elizabeth nj near newark airport
If you don't mind coming into NY and getting to Queens, I recommend Tyrol Sport (www.tyrolsport.com). Good guys that do good work at fair prices and they specialize in MINIs.
Nice to Greet Ya! Are you singing the " I just can't stop driving" song yet?
Maybe you'll see my daughter in her Cooper around town... She teaches in Elizabeth. She has "Scarlet the Bad Apple" a Chili Red 2007 S with a black roof & a bright green worm hanging out of the scoop. BadAppl is her plate.
Hope to see you soon!
Come on out to play.
Drive and eat it's what we miniacs love to do!

Welcome from another NJ Mini owner. I drive a 2004 MC non-S and the AC works OK! It definitely will keep the interior acceptably cool on a hot day. Having said that, I also have to tell you that it sucks most of the engine power away in order to keep the car cool. I tend to keep it off as it really bogs my engine down. Besides...its fun to lister to the note from the exhaust with the windows open as you drive under the overpasses...hee hee!
