TPMS on a 2006 MC - work, or not, on a 2009 MC?
TPMS on a 2006 MC - work, or not, on a 2009 MC?
Those that have been around longer, can they confirm what I think I've discovered for reading some threads?
A 2006 mini cooper's original set of wheels will NOT be compatible (TPMS sensor, that is) with a 2009 MC.
And, one way to tell (short of installing and trying to sync my vehicle to those new wheels) is that the 2006 valves will NOT end in the same metallic ends that my 2009 currently has...
is that all correct?
thanks much.

I'm not sure it will fit...but not sure it will not....but if they do fit you will need to transfer the sensors to them (they are not equipped), or buy a second set that is compatible. A call to the dealer might give you the info you need.
You can probably buy sensors for them. You just need to make sure that you get the sensors that are compatible with your 2009. Alex@TireRack.com can advise you.
The 2006 wheels will have standard rubber valve stems because there were no sensors in 2006 wheels. The FTM just measured wheel rotations to determine if a tire had gone flat.
