Is this noise my water pump?

A few months ago I thought I had a super charger failure, so I took the whole thing apart only to find everything ok. While it was apart I changed out the super charger oil with the GM stuff and cleaned everything up ect. There was no abnormal wear, all the gears looked in great shape.

More recently I have noticed a new whistling type noise which seems to be coming from the super charger\water pump area. I cant attach MP3's here so here's a link to the sound. Its most noticeable when the revs are coming back down. I have never heard this noise up until a few days ago and it seems to be getting louder. Anyone have any ideas?

I have an 2003 R53 with 73k miles.

I am no expert but that does sound like the Sc to me, I have an 04 MCS with almost the same mileage and nothing soundinglike that yet, but I know ti is coming and I picked up a SC with 30 K on it, and i am sending it for a complete rebuild, so when the time comes, its ready

Thanks for the input.

Anyone else have any idea's\experience with this noise? I did go out today and buy some more GM super charger oil and added it until the oil ran out of the fill hole. The noise didn't change any.

Long story short, it was the PTO gears in the SC. I called up Dustin at autoxcooper and arranged to have the SC rebuilt. I got the entire SC rebuilt and the rotors re-coated. They also repaired my m7 pully. Turn around was great (3 business days) and it came back better than new. As usual Dustin hooked me up with great service.

Glad to hear that you got it all sorted out! I'm keeping an eye out for a supercharger so I can have one ready to go when that time comes for my MINI.
