Thinking of... Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08

I got a 2007 MCS with Stock 16's.... Any thoughts on this tire and if so what size is best for me?

205/55/16 or 225/50/16

I'd go for the 225/50/16's. Those tires look great. I'd also consider RE-11's or Star Specs. I have only had the Star Specs, but I would go for any of these as replacements when the time comes.

If you're gonna be lowered, maybe consider a 45 series if you go for the 225's.

I'm on RE-11's and love the ride and grip - but if I had it to do again, I'd get the AD08's... they're significantly lighter, and otherwise very similar in performance. The RE-11's are heavy and I can feel it. On a big HP/TQ car, it wouldn't be an issue... but on a MINI, every rotating pound counts.

I think the AD08, RE11 and Z1 are quite comparable. I would be happy with the grip from each of them. Compared to stock, the different is great.

Since they are extreme performance tires, they last only about 12K-16K miles with regular street use.

Just put some 205/50/15 Yokohama Avid Envigors on a few days ago. Been out "playing" this weekend. Man what a difference from the OEM runflats. Quiter, astoundingly better ride and, though I haven't pushed them yet, handling is fine. Took a flyer on a new tire and so far I am happy.

Anyone got a pic or two of 225/50/16's with stock MCS sport suspension?

Well Tire Rack had them on special and they got em to me in 3 days! So over the weekend I took them to Discount Tire here in San Diego and mounted them up! I must say that they look fantastic, very aggressive tread pattern and the bigger size looks a lot better than those skinny stock ones. Can't wait to break them in so I can run the twisties of Palomar Mountain!
