M7 Coilover: Disassembly and repair

i recently purchased set of M7 coilovers from the market place and all appeared ok upon receiving them but when i tried to adjust the front dampeners, the adjustment ***** broke off from what i think was simply rust and corrosion built up and it appears as though metal rod inside dampener that actually turns to adjust the setting may have broken. the seller is refusing to refund my money, and so far, my bank and paypal have been of no help. does anyone know how to fix this problem or atleast take apart the shock so i can investigate further?

Any help or suggestions would be helpful.

Where are you located? Was it a front or rear that's busted?

im located in saint petersburg FL. I spoke to peter for quite a while today, and they do offer replacement shocks which i may have to look into at some point, but atleast in talking to him he comforted me in the fact that the fronts are currently on the softest setting which is where almost everyone drives them anyway. so i think im just going ot install them as is since the seller is be of not help even though he knows he sold me a faulty product.

Ah well, that's a little better. Depending on the price of replacement shocks, I'd probably hold off on installing them as is.

We do not rebuild the coilovers we replace them for the original owner within the warranty period if it became necessary .As far as I know, to this point ,we have not had to do that as the shocks have proven to be very reliable
We have never taken the shocks apart we are not able to offer any suggestions as to how they may be repaired. The shocks should still function fine but only to the settings it was last adjusted too. It is an unfortunate situation and Peter has had a couple of conversations already with the OP trying to sort this out.

I have no hard feelings toward m7. I believe they offer good products, I am just simply a little frustrated and I apologize if i came off as attacking m7 for their inabilty to help me as that was not the case. I appreciate all the help they have given me. I just wish the seller had been more honest or willing to resolve the problem. But I guess what I got was to be expected since people fukcking suck.

just want to give an update status on my situation. With a little tinkering and attempting to fix rod that was sheared off i learned that it simply had an allen key type end on it which was the other half of the broken piece left inside the adjustment. these happened to pop out during my tinkering, and i think i was successful in fixing them. My only problem now is that they do not stay in the end of the of the shocks, but im not to worried about that because i can still put them in adjust them, and slide them back out. The clickers dont work, so i just have to make sure i turn them the same amount.

Good Job As these are the fronts I would go as far counter clockwise as I could easily and then go 1/4 turn clock wise . This will leave you with a soft front which should work well for street driving . I run 1 front and 6 rear for street .
